Contract Negotiations
Negotiating a contract requires the specialized skills of experienced attorneys. Our years of experience in the practice of Sports Law enable us to provide unsurpassed personalized contract representation for professional athletes, coaches and individuals in the entertainment industry.
CS Sports believes our client’s best interest is the top priority. We take an aggressive approach to ensure each client obtains his “maximum value”.
We bring a well-rounded approach to contract negotiating by conducting extensive research of franchise economics, salary cap situations, bonus history, player market values as well as other team interests and opportunities. We then combine our knowledge of contract law principles, negotiating strategies and Collective Bargaining Agreements, to structure a deal which maximizes the player’s earning potential.
Training and Draft Preparation
Being properly prepared for the NFL Draft can mean the difference between the 1st and 3rd round, or the 4th and 7th round. CS Sports along with the best strength, speed, conditioning, and positional coaches in the sports industry, prepare individualized programs to ensure that each athlete’s unique ability is enhanced to optimize their Speed, Agility, Flexibility, Strength and Endurance.
At our state of the art training facilities, each client is prepared for the rigors of the NFL Combine, NFL Pro Day, and NFL Training Camp. Each client is treated as an individual and is provided with every resource possible to enable their NFL success, including: Positional training, Interview preparation, Wonderlic preparation, Film Study, and various other helpful resources.

The public perception of each athlete plays a crucial role in their marketability. Marketing is a very important component in increasing a player’s earning power and status in the community.
CS Sports places a strong emphasis on building a player’s image from the beginning of their career, by emphasizing the importance of the relationship between the community and the player. Career Counseling
As soon as the athlete begins his professional career, we begin discussing his career plans after sports. Although it is difficult for the athlete to project his future, we feel it is very important to him to think about and discuss these issues. We emphasize to the player the importance of graduating from college (if necessary) and also provide consultation regarding post-graduate studies.
During his career, we work closely with the player and encourage him to take advantage of business relationships, continuing education classes, player programs, business seminars and off-season corporate internships. We then counsel the player to develop several career strategies that will fit the client’s needs and interests after his professional career is over.
Financial, Estate and Tax Planning
We have a team of financial experts to advise players on making sound financial decisions during and after their careers. We understand the unique financial pressures of playing professional sports, and help each player plan accordingly. Initially, we prepare a detailed budget so the player can properly manage his assets. Our financial experts, consisting of tax and estate attorneys and accountants, have designed the most effective tax strategies for dealing with large signing bonuses and multi-year player contracts. In addition, they prepare and file all federal and state income tax returns, as well as other tax documents, on behalf of the athlete. Our financial advisors from some of the nation’s most prestigious financial service companies, provide athletes with advice on building sound financial investment portfolios based on the type of investment and spending practice selected by the client. This approach allows the player to focus his concentration on the field while his personal financial worth continues to grow off the field.
